This section demonstrates the typical steps to use TapPoint LapTimer as a stopwatch to create and save a timing session.

1. LapTimer opens in the Sessions list view, which lists all the sessions that are stored on the device. To time a new session, tap the New... button |

| 2. Specify the track name from the Track popup. Pick an entry from the list or pick "Edit Tracks..." to add a new track name. | ![]() |

| 3. Specify the session name from the Session popup. Pick an entry from the list or pick "Edit Session Names..." to add a new session name. | ![]() |

| 4. Enter the car number in the Car # field, or pick an entry from the popup list. If the specified car number appears in the popup list then driver and car type names will be automatically associated as well. | ![]() |

| 5. Tap OK on the New Session dialog. | ![]() |

| 6. The LapTimer view opens. To start the timer when the car first passes your reference point, tap Start. | ![]() |

| 7. Tap the Lap button at the end of each lap to register the lap. You can also use the device hardware button below the Lap button to register laps for easy one-hand operation. | ![]() |
