How to Get the Latest Version

Updates are free for registered users!

Starting with version 1.3, LapTimer now uses the "Shareware Registration model", where the free trial and full versions of the program are identical, and upgrading to the full version requires a registration code to be entered.  This allows users of the full version to easily get future updates by simply downloading and installing the latest trial version over their registered version (no need to re-enter the registration code).   

Registered users of versions 1.0 through 1.2 should contact support@tappoint.com to obtain their registration code before upgrading, then click here to download the latest version.

  1. The use of the device hardware buttons while timing is now fully configurable, via the "Device Buttons..." menu command, which brings up the Device Buttons dialog.  

  2. The Palm Zire™ device is detected and defaults to the appropriate 2-button assignment for this device.

Updates in TapPoint LapTimer Version 1.3

  1. New Session list filter allows you to filter your saved sessions by Track, Driver, Session Name, or Car Number to easily manage a large number of sessions.

  2. To save steps in the common cases, new sessions are now automatically saved when completed rather than prompting for confirmation and session details.

  3. The Session Details view now includes a 'Car #' popup list for quick assignment of car number, driver, and car type during or after a session.

  4. LapTimer now uses the Shareware Registration model.  See "How to Get the Latest Version" above.

  1. New 'Traffic' flag type for marking laps slowed by traffic.

  2. When timing two cars, pressing a second hardware Lap button while the first button is still being held down will now register a time for the second car.

  1. New Export to Memo feature exports session data in a standard text format to a Memo Pad document on the device, which allows you to:
    • Copy and Paste session data into other documents on your device
    • HotSync to copy session data to your desktop computer in standard text format
    • Print session data on your desktop computer

    • Paste session data into spreadsheets and other documents on your desktop computer for analysis, charting, etc.

  2. Up to 250 laps can be stored in a session (up from 99).

  3. Color icons and flags for color devices.

  4. Uses International Date and Time formats as specified in the system preferences.
